Our Lodge
Talara Lodge is a 2 storey building, with living areas downstairs. The living areas consist of a kitchen with pantry, lounge room, dining room, laundry, ski-room and drying room.
All bedrooms and bathrooms are located upstairs. There are a total of 3 double bedrooms, 2 twin rooms with twin single beds, a bunk room with 4 beds, and 2 family rooms. Each family room features an ensuite, and can accommodate up to 6 people.
Talara Ski Club was formed in 1966 and now has 159 members. The Club’s lodge in Thredbo Village was built between 1968 and 1969, with club members carrying out almost all construction work. The first bookings were accepted in August 1969. The lodge is available for members and their guests throughout the year.
Membership
Talara Ski Club has a limited membership base and has several people on its waiting list.
The books are closed until further notice for people wishing to join the waiting list.
Friends of Talara
The Friends of Talara group was formed in 2001 to distinguish those non-members who are on the Club’s membership waiting list, and/or are familiar with the operation of the lodge, and have shown a commitment to it over the years.
Friends of Talara are offered certain privileges such as being able to act as Lodge Captain during their stay. Inclusion into this exclusive group is by invitation only, by the Club’s Directors.
